IODD Studio
IO-Link devices must be described by IO-Link Device Descriptions, or “IODD” for short. These IODDs are complex, structured XML files with numerous constraints and dependencies. Editing an IODD can become a tedious and time-consuming task, and it is difficult to maintain integrity between the device and the IODD in the event of changes.
TEConcept has developed an IODD Studio that significantly simplifies editing IODDs.
This is a flexible tool that allows the user to create the desired IODD and provides feedback only on errors found by the user-defined validators. For this reason, this tool is recommended for users who already have experience working with IODD files. IODD Studio supports creating new IODDs from scratch as well as importing and modifying existing IODDs. The user can also customize the validation rules that apply to the created IODD.
Created/modified IODDs can be checked and “stamped” using the “official” IODD Checker from the IO-Link website.
