The Holy Trinity of IO-Link Quality

17. Okt 2025

In a world where nothing is certain and everything is changing, there’s one thing you can rely on:

Once all three tests are passed, your device will talk to the master – worldwide.

No matter what happens. And that’s far from a given.

1️⃣ Protocol Test – Does your device even speak “IO-Link”?

The protocol test is like grammar class for devices.
It’s all about clean communication: timing, data consistency, correct frame structure.
Lose a bit here or there, and your device goes silent – like a teenager at the dinner table.
Pass the test, and your device speaks fluent IO-Link – punctuation included.

2️⃣ Physical Layer Test – The backbone of it all

This one checks whether your device has a spine.
Not metaphorically – electrically.
Signal quality, noise immunity, cable length – this is where solid hardware separates itself from panic attacks in the control cabinet.
In short: if it fails here, no software patch will save it.

3️⃣ EMC Test – The trial by fire

And then comes judgment day.
The EMC test throws your device into the storm: electromagnetic fields, voltage spikes, the full industrial reality.
It’s the final and most critical step toward your official manufacturer’s declaration of conformity – your passport to the global market.
Fail here, and it’s back to the schematic.

Testing

We make sure the test isn’t a roadblock – but a seal of quality.

Because when it comes to IO-Link testing, you need a partner who doesn’t just test – but understands why.
