IO-Link 1-Port Master Module

The IO-Link 1-Port Master Module contains a complete IO-Link master and can be easily integrated into existing systems.

The IO-Link master module includes an IO-Link-compatible transceiver PHY together with a controller running a fully compliant IO-Link master stack. The IO-Link master module can communicate with external hardware via SPI and/or UART interfaces. Simple telegrams sent via these interfaces enable control of the master and provide easy access to process data and IO-Link configuration and diagnostic functions.

Device configuration can be performed offline via a PC using an integrated USB port, running a convenient and self-explanatory IO-Link control tool. The module can be plugged onto an existing board. A reference motherboard is available for development purposes.

Would you like to integrate IO-Link master functionality directly into your hardware?

Our Master Modules deliver fully tested, IO-Link-compliant master functionality in a compact PCB format — communicating via SPI or UART, ready for OEM series production.

IO-Link Master Module, IO-Link USB-C Master or IO-Link Master Stack?

All three solutions offer IO-Link master functionality — but they differ fundamentally in their use case.

The USB-C Master is designed for PC-based use in development and service: it operates directly via USB-C, requires no external power supply, and comes with a full Windows GUI. The IO-Link Master Module, on the other hand, is a compact PCB unit for direct integration into your own hardware — it communicates with the host system via SPI or UART and is designed for OEM use in series production. The IO-Link Master Stack goes a step further: it isn’t hardware, but a licensable software component that integrates IO-Link master functionality directly into your own host platform — for example, a gateway, a PLC, or an embedded system. This offers maximum flexibility in hardware choice, but requires corresponding development resources for integration.

For development, testing, and service in the lab or field, the USB-C Master is the right choice. Once a product moves into series production, either the Master Module as a ready-made hardware component or the Master Stack as a software integration is suitable, depending on the approach.

TEConcept IO-Link 1-Port USB-C Master

IO-Link 1-Port USB-C Master

The IO-Link 1-Port USB-C Master is the compact development and service tool for engineers who want to parameterize, analyze, and test IO-Link sensors and actuators directly from a PC — without a PLC, without an external power supply. Connected via USB-C, it provides a complete master connection and delivers instant access to process data, parameters, and device events via the included Windows GUI (Control Tool).

TEConcept IO-Link 4-Port-Master Module

IO-Link 4-Port Master Modul

For more comprehensive requirements, this module provides four fully tested, IO-Link-compliant ports on 59 mm x 39 mm. It enables direct access to process data and diagnostic information from up to four devices simultaneously. Optionally, we offer custom adaptations of the application software for this module to implement cost-effective stand-alone systems in the form of a mini-PLC.

IO-Link Master Stack

A licensable firmware component that integrates IO-Link master functionality as a ready-made protocol layer into your own automation systems, gateways, or field devices. It runs on a wide selection of microcontrollers and IO-Link ASICs from leading semiconductor manufacturers and supports all IO-Link services — including ISDUs, events, data storage, and Interleaved Mode.
