IO-Link Pathfinder Workshop – GAP Analysis & Roadmap in 4 Hours
Would you like a structured entry point into IO-Link development?
For example, your current situation may look like this:
- Do you have an initial product idea with new functions, for example in the areas of maintenance or IoT?
- Is it your task to integrate IO-Link into an existing product due to market adjustments or customer requirements?
- Have you heard of IO-Link but are unsure whether integration is worthwhile for your product?
- Would you like to convince your management of the benefits of IO-Link but are still looking for the right arguments?
From the IO-Link Pathfinder Workshop analysis to a certified, market-ready product
- Clear assessment of your IO-Link maturity level
- Transparency regarding technological, organizational, and conceptual gaps (GAP analysis)
- Concrete recommendations for action with a priority plan
- Realistic roadmap for product improvement or IO-Link integration
Now clearly assess potential with the IO-Link Pathfinder Workshop and define the roadmap for your product.

FAQ on IO-Link Pathfinder Workshop
What is the IO-Link Pathfinder?
Who is the IO-Link Pathfinder designed for?
The workshop is aimed at everyone involved in planning and implementing an IO-Link project: technical project management, product management, development, and – where relevant – marketing and sales.
How is the workshop structured?
The IO-Link Pathfinder consists of two two-hour sessions.
The first session focuses on the target vision and use case, as well as an analysis of your current system architecture.
The second session involves a critical assessment of technological maturity and IO-Link suitability, followed by jointly developing concrete solution approaches for implementation.
How long does the entire workshop take?
Four hours, split into two two-hour blocks. The sessions are held on separate days with an appropriate interval between them.
What exactly happens in the first session?
First, we jointly clarify your target vision together: What should the product achieve, and what added value does IO-Link bring for your specific use case? We then analyze your existing system architecture – which interfaces, protocols, and hardware components are already in place.
What happens between the two sessions?
TEConcept evaluates the findings from the first session internally. We analyze your requirements and system architecture, assess technological suitability, and develop possible solution approaches. This preparation allows us to design the second session in a targeted, results-oriented way.
What happens in the second session?
We present our assessment of the technological maturity and IO-Link suitability for your use case and discuss the developed solution approaches together with you. Building on this, we then develop the concrete implementation roadmap for your project.
What is the concrete outcome of the workshop?
At the end of the IO-Link Pathfinder, you receive a roadmap tailored to your requirements for implementing your project – with clear next steps, identified risks, and an assessment of technological feasibility.
Does the outcome have to be IO-Link specifically?
No. The process is designed to be technology-agnostic. One possible outcome can explicitly be that IO-Link is not the best solution for your specific product requirements. The goal is always the right decision for you – not a particular technology.
What prerequisites do I need to bring to the workshop?
No prior IO-Link knowledge is required. It’s helpful if participants have an overview of the planned product, the target application, and existing technical framework conditions.
