IO-Link Master Stack
Current sensors and actuators in industrial automation are often equipped with small, powerful microprocessors that allow these sensors to be provided with useful functionality, such as remote parameterization or diagnostic capabilities. However, this functionality is not visible in standardized planning or control systems when using proprietary communication interfaces.
IO-Link, the bi-directional, digital communication standard (IEC 61131-9), offers the possibility of standardized mapping of sophisticated sensors and actuators into these systems.
Our IO-Link Master Software Stack provides automation system providers or machine builders with a quick and easy means to integrate IO-Link technology into their system environment.
Master Stack Features
- Complies with the current IO-Link Interface Specification V1.1.5
- Multi-port support. The maximum number of ports is only resource-limited.
- Minimum cycle times:
- 0.4ms @ 230.4 kBaud
- 2.3ms @ 38.4 kBaud
- 18ms @ 4.8 kBaud
- Processor load max. 20MHz/Port (COM3)
- Control and Test API
- IO-Link SMI API support according to v1.1.3 specification (extended Fieldnet mapping support with our TSTL API)
Master Stack Description
The IO-Link Master Stack firmware provides full access to all features and services as defined in the IO-Link Interface Specification V1.1.2. This includes support for ISDUs, events, data retention, and interleaved mode. A real-time operating system is required. The real-time operating system is accessed via an abstraction layer, allowing support for multiple real-time operating systems. Currently, FREERTOS, OpenRTOS, EmBOS, and Keil RTX are supported.

A Control Tool Software (CT) for controlling the stack via a PC facilitates the integration of the stack into the customer application and offers simple testing and comparison options for stack functionality.

Our flexible stack structure allows for easy porting to different platforms. If your desired processor or ASIC is not yet listed above, we are happy to perform further porting. This porting will be largely cost-neutral for you.
